Dashboards are a collection of relevant information about the company information in a single view, with drill down capability. For a sales tracking dashboard, you can quickly see upcoming bids, last activity with hot prospects and all contact information. And while this information is available on a Global basis, it should also be available by Region, by Sales Rep, By Line of Business/Industry and by Type. Executives need to see on a daily basis the status of the organization and an executive dashboard is key.
Dashboards also provide security and access which can be defined by region, by level, by type, etc., so when an executive logs in they quickly see what they need to see. For example, a regional division head would first see their division’s key metrics on the Dashboard, where the CEO will see the consolidated dashboard.
Today, mobility is critical. Can the Executives see this important tool while out of the office? They better be able to.
